Founded in 2001 and headquartered in London (UK) with a satellite office in Los Angeles, 3D Entertainment Films (3DEF) is a vertically-integrated company focused on the production of innovative films for IMAX® theatres and digital 3D cinemas worldwide.

 

In 2007, 3D Entertainment Distribution (3DED) was created to become the theatrical sales and marketing arm of 3D Entertainment Films. 3D Entertainment Distribution’s mission is to immerse audiences of all ages in unique story-driven experiences that both inspire and educate.

 

Focusing on the sales and distribution of innovative 3D films for Giant Screen theatres and digital 3D cinemas worldwide, it oversees all non-production-related activities from theatrical film rights sales, film marketing, promotional events and educational outreach programs, to the development of ancillary markets.

 

The cornerstone of the 3DED catalogue is an exceptional underwater film trilogy presented by Jean-Michel Cousteau – “Ocean Wonderland 3D,” “Sharks 3D” and “Dolphins and Whales 3D” – which has cumulatively grossed over USD 86 million at the box office to date. In 2010, the company successfully launched its first acquisition, N3D LAND Films’ “Sea Rex 3D: Journey to a Prehistoric World,” which was named Best Earth Sciences Program at the 2011 Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival. In April 2012, “Air Racers 3D,” produced by sister company 3D Entertainment USA alongside Pretend Entertainment and Stereoscope, became the Company's fifth release. This was followed by the stunning “Kenya 3D: Animal Kingdom” in March 2013.

 

In March 2014, “D-Day, Normandy 1944,” from the director and producers of “Sea Rex 3D: Journey to a Prehistoric World,” will be released at IMAX® and Digital cinemas worldwide. This large format documentary, produced entirely in 3D, provides a new, penetrating look at this monumental event that forever changed the course of history.
